It is quite often the smallest treasures that generate the
greatest pleasure. I feel this way after reading Howard Burr's "My Heart
Soars" which is a recollection of his lifetime of soaring. Burr's
little book is the real deal providing a personal accounting of his
firsthand experience from crewing for Martin Schempp to being a valued
member of the Schweizer Aircraft Company to his induction into the
National Soaring Hall of Fame. If you are interested in soaring I
guarantee you will not put down this book. You'll learn the details
behind the development of Howard's beloved "Brigadoon" and you'll follow
his efforts working in top secret to help develop America's first
jet-powered aircraft. This little treasure is 73 pages in length. We
have a limited quantity available. They sell for $9.95 + $2.50 for
shipping and handling. Click below to purchase.
I think that I now own a Standard Cirrus that was once owned by Howard C. and/or Howard S. Burr. Serial # 356G. Registration N468E. The log shows flight in 1978 from Black Forest (Colorado?) It's still a great ship!
