Sal Paluso is another of those sailplane modelers that is inspiring. His skills in building from plans crafting every part from hand are impeccable and the incredible attention to detail, fit and finish are enviable.
What fascinates and inspires me is his artistry in interpreting plans in crafting scratch built masterpieces using clear finishes that allow all of his woodworking skills to be seen under the antique Solartex covering. If you notice too, he book-matches sheeting materials on wings, adds highly detailed cockpit interiors and instrument panels and in the case of the 70" Sterling Schweizer SGS 1-26D reproduction below, converts them to his favorite airframes, in this case the B model with round tail. I am sure they fly every bit as well as they look.
Way to go Sal, nice work!
