Yesterday I completed fuselage bulkhead stanchions for building the monocoque fuselage fixtured to the building board. Both of these changes have been requested by builders as a possible way of improving the 1:5 scale kit and in time I will retrofit the parts, plans and cutter files to add these features to the previous scale.
Last night and again this morning I've revised the drawing and completed parts for the vertical fin and rudder of the quarter scale 1-23. Parts now include the fin mounting tab which interlocks in slots in the root rib, spar and post of the fin. I've also added plywood fin post and rudder spar from 5/32" (4mm) plywood to the cutter files. These are pre-drilled by the laser to index the holes for Robart Steel Pin hinges in four locations (these two parts called out as spruce on the plan for scratch build).
Later today I will do the same for the horizontal tail spars, and ribs for all empenage surfaces per plans.
